Keep receiving a white page when refreshing.

The receiving a white page when refreshing is that some webpages 'Hang' and don't actually complete, even though they 'look' fully loaded. The site may be relying on a remote image, or some other database activity.

The time the page takes to load is dependent on the following factors:

  • Size of the webpage,
  • speed of computer,
  • number of web images,
  • internet connectivity,
  • web site speed.

All these items play an important factor and would contribute to the page taking quite a while to load. You will see the same effect if you open Internet Explorer and press refresh every second.

There is an option in Refresher PRO and Refresher Enterprise which will only refresh the page as soon as the whole page has loaded. This means that you can set a refresher level of 1 second, and if the page takes 3 seconds to load, Refresher will not refresher the page until the page has loaded (i.e. the full 3 seconds). If the page is refreshed and only takes 1 second, then Refresher will refresh the page as soon as it has ploaded - i.e. the full 1 second.

To enable this option in Refresher:

  • Go to Options in the file menu
  • Click Settings...
  • Click the Refresh tab
  • Click the Advanced tab
  • Tick Enable full page load before refreshing

Click OK to save your changes.
